NTEU established an anonymous tip-off link for reporting irregular and unethical conduct on campuses, including non-compliance with COVID-19 related matters and the specific health and safety regulations issued by the Minister of Employment and Labour.
"The aim of this platform is to allow members and colleagues to empower us with information on the ground for taking up and reporting through the various national structures we currently operate in", said NTEU General Secretary, Mr Grant Abbott. "With many concerns surrounding the re-opening of campuses and the need for oversight during this process, this platform will be a valuable tool.".
Already a number of concerning reports have been received as university management races to reopen campuses. These reports range from the insufficient supply of PPE's for working in a potentially life-threatening environment to attempts of short-handing vital health and cleaning requirements set out by the minister.
With the objective of protecting the collective workforce in higher education, NTEU invites members and non-members alike to use this platform. It is the NTEU mandate to ensure that our members are protected both professionally and physically.
