Mr Abbott added that while NTEU is happy to see the back of him, the union is concerned that it would appear as though another process has been flouted – that of a disciplinary hearing.
"Academic Freedom and Institutional Autonomy are not the same thing. Public accountability and institutional autonomy go hand-in-hand and NTEU rejects any stance that tries to hide from public scrutiny."
The union watches expectantly to see if council might be determined culpable in aiding the maleficence at the institution through their decided position of impotence.
